Hi Folks,
I thought it was about time I gave you an update re my condition. As I and others suspected, I won't be ready to resume by May 19th, the progress has been slow and painful at times. It's been four weeks now and I'm just able to go through the day without the sling, I'm being very careful, of course, but I need to do some exercise to rebuild the muscles which have been out of action. I'm hoping to able to come back to the UK before the end of the month but one can never be certain.
I've kept myself busy by watching TV and playing with the computer, I have managed to get out for some events here in town including Shakespeare's Othello, Tom Petty and Mudcrutch, Ramblin Jack Elliot and my cousin Vikki Lee. I hope to be able to drive soon, our cars are all manual so my right arm isn't yet strong enough to negotiate the gears. I have tried playing the guitar and piano, everything seems to work but I need a couple more weeks before I'll be anywhere near ready to do it for two hours and even then who knows with what intensity.
I send my thanks for all of the good wishes I've received. I hope to see many of you next month.

PS Note from Phil Hadler. If you've not seen the DVD 'Tribute to the King' take a look. I watched it today. It's great! Albert and Friends did well with Scotty Moore.
